Developing Kingdom Community
19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with youalways, to the very end of the age.”
How effective are small groups? Jesus poured His life into a group of 12, and more than 2,000 years later, we are the result. That’s how influential holistic small groups can be.
Every group, is about life in Christian community and the secret to leading healthy small groups is to address the head’s, the hand’s and the heart’s of the members; a balance that is dynamic, and precisely what makes a small group holistic.
All essential components of church can be seen in high quality small groups, as we invest in God’s people. We will cover evangelistically reaching out and meeting the needs of others, growing in our spirituality, developing order and structure that breathes life, understanding our gifting and calling, loving each other as Jesus loves, and being a worshipping community.
These quality characteristics form a holistic small group, with empowering leadership in the centre, ministering across each area, seeing the good news preached and disciples raised up in every walk of life.
As we look to develop great Christian community, we must address the very things that, if left unattended, will destroy our relationships with God, each other and indeed ourselves.
This training day will address the 7 Deadly Sins; pride, gluttony, envy, greed, anger, sloth, and lust, recognising the “neutral” energy that lies behind these negative elements of sin, and look to transform that energy positively into great, Godly, passions.
For centuries, people have tried to suppress these tendencies, will little effect. Jesus, the most empowering leader who has ever lived, didn’t simply to say no. He taught us to harness the energy that has the potential to become sinful attitudes and gave us a strategy to redirect this, achieving positive, spiritual goals.
Holiness is not the absence of sin,
It is the presence of positive virtues.
Each attendee is encouraged to take the NCD Community Test in advance of the training day which can be done on www.3colorworld.org, or immediately afterwards to enable maximum growth and development.
